Mitered Siding Corner.JPG

A house nestled into the rocky shores of San Juan Island. Pre-stained, reclaimed wood siding helps the house to blend into the landscape, ultimately weathering to gray. A single, continuous shed roof reaches its zenith with a bank of tall windows to reveal the best unobstructed views over the water and landscape. This efficient plan uses no hallways, clustering bedrooms around a central space. The flex room is built with disappearing corner pocket doors that, when open, connect it to the living area and expands the space for gatherings. Minimal interior and exterior details such as mitered siding corners, recessed door pulls, and kitchen in a tonal palette keep the focus on the majesty of the scenery.
